Do I Have Bed Bugs?

How do you know if you have bed bugs? You will know that you brought bed bugs home with you if you see these signs on your body and around your home.

  • You have small blood stains on your sheets and/or cushions.

  • You see tiny dark spots on your walls or furniture where bed bug excrement is.

  • There is an unfamiliar sweet smell in your home. When bed bugs collect in large numbers, they release a sweet odor.

  • You see a dead bed bug in your home, especially in the seams of furnishings and mattresses.

  • When you wake up in the morning, you have small bites on your back or shoulders.

Bed bugs don’t leave random bites all over your body. Bed bug bites are usually concentrated on a single area on your body. Bed bugs leave a distinct bite pattern. Bed bug bites are usually evidenced by a line of little red bumps that are extremely itchy. Don’t scratch because scratching bed bug bites can lead to an infection.
